About Me

For most of us it's always difficult to describe ourselves. So I guess the best thing to do is just plunge in and tell you a little about myself:

I would say I'm your average person... who had an average job... until caught up in the average cost saving practice of a business: a little thing called "layoffs," which some of you might have recently experienced too. I have felt privileged to be able to serve in the Christian nonprofit world for most of my career. It first started with becoming a grant writer trainee at Partners International in San Jose, California (which is now located in Spokane, Washington) and working my way up to being their "temporary" Foundations Department manager for three years. After my husband's career moved us to another state, I was blessed to be able to continue using the skills I had gained by serving on staff at two different churches: first as an office manager for two years, then at my own church as an office administrator for 11 years.

I can claim a couple years of college level education but sadly no degree. However, I believe it important that we all continue to grow in every facet of our lives, and hope I continue to do so until I take my last breath. To do that, I'm a reader, and I enjoy healthy discussions and good knowledgeable speakers. Plus I continue to enjoy the challenges of learning new skills.

But most importantly, I care about people and desire greatly to see their lives enriched.

I have long shared with friends that I have a burden for what I call "the defeated Christian," for I've been there. I know what it's like to feel like the Christian life isn't what "it was cracked up to be"... that God, my church, and others have failed me... and have even felt I had been fooled into believing that God existed. In other words I lived in defeat as a Christian.  But thank God I came to realize these were only FEELINGS... not REALITY. This realization changed my life.

Thus a major reason for this blog. I hope that it eventually encourages many who are down... gives direction to those who feel lost in the maze of life... and that it provides enrichment to my fellow believers in their walk with the Father through Christ.

Shalom!
